1. Never arrive at a party or holiday event hungry -   Make sure you have a light snack before (raw vegetable, pretzels, a piece of fruit are some suggestions).

2. Divert Your Attention - Set a nonfood related goal for the holidays (meet different people, talk to your first cousin that you normally don't spend much time with, make a craft for the holidays)

3. Pace Yourself - Try not to do too much which may cause stress.

4. Count Your Canapés - Make sure to watch anything you put in your mouth (try sipping on sparkling water with lime if you need to keep your hands or mouth occupied).
